Chapter 190: Derek Gibson found out the truth
Dilapidated Building Area:
"No wonder the Tier-4 Beast chased after you. It must have come from another passage. Fortunately, it was killed. Otherwise, I can't imagine the consequences," Instructor Jacob said in a solemn tone.
"Don't worry, since Head Derek has gone to investigate. He might find something," he added.
Jeremy nodded his head.
May Lindsey was shocked inside her heart. From their conversations, she got to know what was going on: an underground passage running through the city. It's a huge risk.
She didn't know where these beasts were coming from.
Shortly afterwards,
A four-wheel ambulance arrived. Jeremy was immediately taken inside the car. Then the ambulance started flying towards the City Administration Hospital.
It was one of the biggest hospitals in the city with the latest facilities. They are the ones behind treating a large number of the Beast Tamers from the Beast Association.
At this time, only Jeremy went to the hospital. Jacob asked Daniel, Betsy, and May Lindsey to take a rest. He knew Daniel and Betsy had been on a mission since morning.
And May Lindsey was exhausted from the fight as well.
"You guys can leave. I can take care of this matter here," Jacob said.
Hearing that, Daniel and Betsy nodded their heads. They were really mentally exhausted. The appearance of the Tier-4 Rat Beast had shocked them. They needed a deep rest to recover.
Jacob then turned towards May Lindsey. He was surprised to see her here. He saw how she was fighting together with Jeremy against the Tier-4 Rat Beast.
"Miss Lindsey, on behalf of the STRIKER Department, I thank you for your help. You and your lifeline beast helped greatly to stop the beast," he said to her.
"I just did my job as the Beast Tamer. If you allow me, I'll be leaving as well," she said.
Jacob nodded to her. Then the three of them left the place.
He had decided to take charge here because he was not sure whether any more beasts would come out. If another Tier-4 Beast appeared, he needed to kill it.
Meanwhile,
Old man Derek Gibson was moving inside the underground passage. He saw that the underground passage was littered with corpses.
They were corpses ranging from Tier-2 to Tier-3 Rat Beasts.
He noticed the corpses were all mutilated. It was the work of a sword. He immediately knew who had done it.
"Jeremy Night!"
"This kid, how many beasts has he killed?" he thought.
He believed that the kid had fought his way through the underground passage before coming across the Tier-4 Rat Beast.
It didn't take long for him to reach the cross route, where he saw the new passages leading to different parts of the city. His expression changed drastically.
The appearance of the underground passage was a sign that the city administration had overlooked a major issue.
Now the Tier-4 Rat Beast has appeared.
He thought that they couldn't send lower-tier Beast Tamers anymore; this problem should be solved by veteran Beast Tamers.
Instead of going to the new passage, he chose to walk straight. As he followed the path, he came across even more mutilated corpses.
Looking at the corpses, he could tell that they had been killed not long ago, and again by sword cuts. He came to the conclusion that Jeremy Night had walked this path.
Swoosh!
Then he increased his speed. He reached the end of the passage a few minutes later. There was a sinkhole above the surface. He emerged from it and began to investigate the source of the Rat Beast.
Soon, he found some human-related marks. If Jeremy Night were here, he would be surprised because there was no sign of a warehouse. It had been completely taken down.
The company behind the research had vacated this place and erased all traces. But old man Derek still found some human-related clues.
His face turned worse. He could tell that someone was doing something with the Rat Beast. It was not a natural beast intrusion but man-made.
"Someone is breeding and releasing the Rat Beasts into the underground passage," he thought.
Suddenly, he thought of Jeremy Night. His expression turned ugly. He knew that kid had already encountered something like this situation.
Because of Dean Carolyn's persuasion, the kid had remained silent. But if a similar kind of thing happened again, he didn't know whether Jeremy Night would remain silent or not.
"I need to inform the dean first," the old man thought.
He then made a call, but the connection was not established here. Seeing that, he furrowed his eyebrows. If he left right now, then the people behind the incident might blow up this place.
This could, in turn, block the underground passage. But he had no choice but to go and inform others. So, he started taking pictures and recording footage of the clues.
...
City Administration Hospital:
About 20 minutes later,
Jeremy was admitted inside one of the private rooms filled with facilities. He was injected with serum. The serum was a special solution made up of rare natural energy healing treasures.
Usually, it costs a lot. But after knowing about the incident, the City Administration itself decided to provide it for free. Jeremy Night had saved people from fighting against the Tier-4 Rat Beasts.
Though an elder from the Central University had killed it in the end, nobody could take away the credit that Jeremy Night had fought for so long to stop the beast.
Later, one more person joined the fight to help him. After it was revealed that it was S-Grader May Lindsey, the City Administration official decided to reward her as well.
Jeremy Night was unconscious. The serum was working to heal his internal organs. The healing power not only healed the injured parts but also made them stronger.
One reason for this was the help from the breathing method. Jeremy's breathing method was the Inner Healing Method. The human cells were already used to absorbing the healing energy.
So they absorbed the healing energy from the serum without any waste. Because of this, Jeremy Night was getting twice the benefit.
The doctors were not there. After administering the serum, they left. Otherwise, they would have been shocked by the changes.
What do you think?
