Chapter 639 639: 638: Fellow Disciple
"Now, I think we can talk about the price you'll have to pay for killing my Master."
Corey's voice echoed in the Amphitheatre as he held the heart of the younger brother of one of the most, if not the most feared man of the Underworld.
Whispers and murmurs flew around the Amphitheatre as everybody watched the event that was transpiring in the arena.
Almost everybody knew of Smile Reaper because of his actions in the Shattered Dimension of the Old Ones.
They knew that he was a talented Tier 2 that could battle and win against Tier 4s and beings that are comparable to Tier 4s.
They knew that he was currently the hot commodity that was desired by the Outsiders.
Although they had heard of Corey due to the Shattered Dimension of the Old Ones, the residents of the Underworld had no impression of him.
He rarely fought in the battles of the Underworld because he always paid to skip every battle. The only noteworthy thing the residents of the Underworld knew about him was that for some strange reason, Divine, who was considered one of the most fearsome Underworld resident brought Corey into his group from the moment he arrived in the Underworld.
Information on Corey's behaviour and personality was not widely known by the Underworld residents and the Underworld officials.
However, information on Savage, the leader of the Legion of Nightmares was widely known to all.
They knew just how much Savage loved his younger brother. They knew that in the Underworld, the only people that could touch Lyam were the top brass of the Underworld officials, and even they had to be careful because of Savage.
Everybody knew this, and so did Lyam.
It was because of this that every Underworld resident did their best to avoid Lyam because Lyam was a menace in the Underworld.
However, Corey who was just a newly advanced Tier 3 dared to kill Lyam?
Most had no idea if they should applaud the audacity of Corey or if they should mock him for his stupidity.
However, what they did know was that the Underworld was going to be extremely turbulent in the near future.
"What have you done?"
Orpheus' eyes were wide open in disbelief and fear as he stared at Lyam's heart on Corey's hand.
"Do you know what the fuck you've done?!"
Orpheus shouted with a rage-filled expression but Corey's expression and smile remained the same.
He tilted his head slightly, and then he replied.
"Speak, what price is the Legion of Nightmares going to pay for killing my Master?"
"What?" Orpheus was taken aback for a second, but then he scoffed with an expression of disdain.
"The audacity to such a thing and not be running for your life is somewhat admirable."
"Is it Divine that's giving you the confidence to act like this? To behave so nonchalantly?"
Corey remained silent with his expression remaining the same, and then he crushed the heart of Lyam with his hand.
"I'm assuming the Legion of Nightmares would be no more very soon."
Without waiting for a response from Orpheus, Corey turned and started walking away.
Orpheus chuckled and then he began laughing loudly.
"Oh my goodness, I can't believe Master chose an arrogant fool like you to be his disciple. What the hell was that old fool thinking?"
The momen Orpheus said these words, Corey paused, and for two seconds he did not move.
Thinking he heard wrong, a feat which was not possible, Corey turned and spoke with a drastic change in his expression.
"What did you just say?"
Orpheus grinned, "Oh, you didn't know? But I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Master was never proud of me, always said I failed him by abusing the path of poison or some shit like that."
Orpheus chuckled once again, but in the next second, his instincts screamed at him.
His expression changed, and he tried to move, but a hand grabbed his throat and Orpheus' eyes widened in disbelief and pain.
"Never in your life should you call yourself my Master's disciple. You're nothing but a wretched disgrace to my Master."
"You deserve much worse than him."
Corey's soul chilling voice flowed into Orpheus' ears, and Orpheus did not know why, but the fear that flowed into his soul and entire being was immense to the point that he started sweating profusely unconsciously.
Although he was afraid, his experiences with Savage allowed him not to give into his fear.
"Who do you think- Hmmm?!"
Orpheus was about to speak, but Corey covered his mouth with a cold and murderous light in his eyes.
"Shut up."
The moment Corey said these words, he used two fingers to tap several locations on Orpheus' body at an extremely fast speed.
Orpheus' eyes widened in shock and disbelief when he felt his mana pathways getting blocked. The seal was temporary, and he knew he could break through the seal in five seconds or eight at most.
However, he would be a dead man in five seconds or at best, he would be severely injured in five seconds.
Five seconds was more than enough for Corey to kill him.
'How? How was he able to seal my mana pathways? I'm a Mystic Being with a Mystic Physique. If shouldn't be possible for him to seal my mana pathways with his Astral mana even for a few seconds at all.'
'Wait, why do I sense Mystic Force in his Mana? How is that possible?'
As these thoughts went through Orpheus' mind, Corey raised Orpheus with his hand that was covering his mouth, and then he raised his other hand.
Thrum
A black light covered his entire hand, and a thrum echoed in the Amphitheatre.
Those with unique senses and those who had knowledge about the light that was covering Corey's hand all exclaimed internally.
'Intent!'
Although, Orpheus had no idea what the black light, he knew that it was not a good sign for him at all.
He struggled and tried to destroy the blockages in his mana pathways, but it was too late.
Corey swung his hand at Orpheus' right arm and cut it off entirely.
Orpheus scream resounded in the Amphitheatre and outside of it.
